New Bharat Gas connection in Bangalore

Folks!

I just relocated from Mumbai to Banaglore 2 days back. It's a new job, a new rented house and whole swarm of new faces around. Quiet a tough task though, huh! specially when your family is on a vacation and you juggling these all alone.
This morning, I went to the nearest Bharat Gas Office to get my domestic cooking gas connection. The lady who was helping me to get the paper works done, told me that I will get 2 Ashirwad Atta (5 Kg bags) along with the connection. I was indifferent to this bonus, as I had already bought my monthly groceries. The paper works got over quickly, then came the time to pay my bill. While scanning through the bill I was quiet shocked to see that they have charged me 320 INR for the atta. The next was but obvious, I had to ask the lady about it and she told that this is mandatory forced-buying for all new consumers and she can't help me in anyways (The price in the next-door grocery shop is 280 INR).
I am sure by the time I consume the 1st bag of atta, the 2nd one will touch it's expiry date!!!

What a ridiculous business policy of ITC and BPCL to harass the customer. Sometime back after lot of tantrums from consumers GOVT notified the cooking gas dealers not to force-sell ovens along with new connections. Ovens OUT and Atta IN :)

Mr. GOVT - Are you aware? Are you listening? Are you out of your slumber? It's your country, my country, it's our India in 2010.

My empathy goes towards those who have had experienced the same agony. I just pat my back and say "ALL IZ WELL"

Take care.
